So close, yet so far! – Alexys Garza

Calling all who are interested in sleeping in a car both safely and comfortably! My team, Blanket Belt Inc. has made strides in what we feel will be the next great product. These past couple of days our group has focused on our end of semester presentation, as well as our first prototype. Both of which have taken up quite a bit of time as well as creativity!

When thinking about what we want our prototype to look like, it has been a bumpy ride in trying to figure out what material we feel would work best for our vision. We want the customers to feel both safe and comfortable in the material we choose for our blanket belt. I feel that because we do have a deadline in our presentation, we might not be able to create a real first product in time for our first semester final presentation. Because of the short time span I feel that instead of a real first prototype, we will have to make something out of easy to attain resources such as paper, tape, and clips. Although it won’t be a great prototype it will be a good start so that we have a better idea of what we are doing for the future.

Our presentation is very close to being complete and I am very confident in what we will be presenting to our guests and teachers in about a week. Although we do have some things to add specifics to as well as clarify more, I do feel that we are in a good position eight days before the presentations are to be given. For the presentation next week I hope to gain knowledge and information that will help us in improving our product.

Next semester we hope to make a few prototype and finally decide on one we would like to follow through with. This presentation that we will fulfill next week should help us in getting more of an idea in what we hope to achieve in the second semester. While finishing this semester right is very important I feel that having an open mind and thinking ahead to next year will benefit us for when we return. When we return from the break I hope that we will all have a new point of view which will give us a better chance in new variety as well as creativity.

I am very excited to know that we are getting closer to having an end product. My group has worked so much this semester and will continue to. The simple thought of having a product created and finished next semester makes me very happy and I cannot wait! Thanks for reading!
